Our Community As a Resource
HPNG is having its Building Relations Skills Workshop on February 15th.
Yup, that's exciting.
Why?
When we set out to build HPNG as resource to the Hispanic community, it was about building a network that allowed us use each other as resource. Mariela's book, The Latino Advantage in the Workplace, expands on this idea.
We've all heard the stats and rethoric on the booming Latino market in the U.S., the billions of dollars in purchasing power, etc.
We get marketed to, reached out to and even "focused grouped" on, but when do we bring the experience back to each other? When do we make the time to teach our community from of our experiences and knowledge? Mariela Dabbah as our workshop leader, is doing just that.
Kudos to the national organizations that do bring the learning experience back to our community, such as NSHMBA and LISTA. However, for the rest of us, we count on each other; our contacts, our networking and our community-based organizations such as...well, HPNG.
Join us on Thursday, February 15th and you can learn from one of your own.
