MLB IS LOOKING FOR A MANAGER, LATIN AMERICAN MARKETING

Title:
Manager, Latin American Marketing
Department: Int'l Business Operations
Reports to: Vice President, International Broadcast Sales & Latin American / US Hispanic Sales & Marketing

MAJOR PURPOSE:
Generate sponsorship revenue and incremental business growth from the Latin American Market. Assist in developing a strategic sales plan to increase the number of sponsors, consumer marketing promotions, broadcast viewership and programs in the region. Develop and execute programs via sponsors to enhance and increase brand equity and awareness of the Major League Baseball brand in Latin America and the US Hispanic Market.

Establish marketing and promotional initiatives for sponsor programs. Develop and manage relationships with sponsors and broadcasters in the Latin American market to promote the Major League Baseball brand in key product categories. Responsible for the management and sales of Special Event sponsorships in the region.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Generate new and incremental revenue via new business opportunities. Develop and implement specific sales goals and objectives, both qualitative and quantitative, to support a fully integrated approach to building the business.

•Develop and implement strategic business plans for sponsorship featuring all product categories on an annual basis. Manage strategic objectives to meet specific financial goals for the business.

•Establish revenue/expense targets and manage the P/L for the business.

•Provide day-to day service of existing and new corporate accounts.

•Negotiate contract renewals and amendments, and manage contract execution for account base to establish the best possible business arrangements for MLBI.

•Integrate all components of the International business to maximize brand exposure, retail sales, market development, broadcast and sponsorship partners.

•Identify, research and analyze potential business partners and new trends in specific categories/markets and prepare and present proposals as well as evaluate new business proposals. Develop and help create new assets and programs to promote to sponsors.

•Manage the budget, expenses and the collection of all revenues for the business portfolio.

•Work with MLB International licensing to develop customized consumer and trade promotions, merchandising programs, and special retail initiatives to support tailored sponsor platforms.

•Manage and develop sponsorship opportunities for special events in the region (i.e. Opening Day, Spring Training, All-Star Tours, Baseball Festivals, etc.).

•Manage the All-Star Balloting program for the region.

•Assist the VP in the coordination and execution of special projects.

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS/REQUIREMENTS:
•Strong knowledge of Major League Baseball, sponsorship/sales industry, retail distribution, consumer marketing promotions and consumer/trade promotions across various product categories preferred.

•Strong organization, negotiation, project management, communication and interpersonal skills.

•Experience in selling corporate sponsorships and advertising packages in Latin America and/or the US Hispanic market preferred.

•Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and work with many different areas throughout the MLB organization.

•Strong Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) expertise.

•Strong analysis and presentation skills.

•Must be fluent in English and Spanish both verbal and written.

•Position requires extensive international travel (40%+)

•College Degree required.
